Meet the Band!

Formed in 2004, ABBEY RODE is a critically-acclaimed Houston-based tribute band performing the greatest hits of the world's greatest rock band - the BEATLES!!! Unlike other Beatles tribute bands, we don't dress like the Beatles and we don't act like the Beatles - we just sound like them! In addition, we focus on all of the Beatles' greatest hits, not just the songs from the "touring years." Finally, we also play those "hidden gems" that you won't hear anywhere else, as well as a few "solo" songs from the post-Beatles era. All four members of ABBEY RODE sing lead and backing vocals. All instruments are played live - no tapes or backing tracks are used!

ABBEY RODE performs its spectacular Beatles tribute show at festivals, clubs, casinos and private, corporate and charity events. So join us at one of our next performances, and experience the sounds of the Beatles as they haven't been heard for forty years - you won't be disappointed!!

You Know My Name...

Johnny Ono
(vocals, guitars, keyboards and harmonica) is the youngest member of Abbey Rode but is nevertheless an old soul. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, he grew up listening to music that others might classify as "Oldies". He picked up the guitar at age twenty-one and began playing the piano a year later, drawing heavy inspiration from various artists of the 50's and 60's. Besides playing music, he enjoys art, drawing, writing, reading and film. He's described by his friends and family as fun, laid back and a little crazy. He sings lead on many songs performed by Abbey Rode, including "She Loves You", The Ballad of John & Yoko", and "Revolution".

Jay Bourgeois (vocals, bass) was born at a very early age in a small town outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, where he displayed an early interest in music, joining the school's marching band in the first grade as perhaps the world's youngest trumpet player. At age 12, a friend introduced him to the music of the Beatles, and the rest was history. He soon put aside the trumpet in favor of guitar and then bass, and performed with a number of rock bands while in high school and college. After relocating with his family to Houston, Texas in 2001, he answered an ad placed by Bill Thompson, seeking "musicians to form a Beatles tribute band", and soon became a founding member of Abbey Rode. Jay sings lead on such songs as "Can't Buy Me Love", "Ticket to Ride" and "Get Back".

Bill "the Bossman" Thompson
(vocals, drums) hails from New Haven, Connecticut. He began his long career as a drummer at the age of five, and before long was playing professionally with jazz and rock bands throughout the Northeast. He relocated to Houston with his family in the 1990's and quickly settled into the local rock scene, playing drums for several popular bands. Bill is a lifelong Beatles fan, having seen the Fab Four at Shea Stadium in 1966, and so it was his idea to form Abbey Rode in 2004.  Bill's drumming influences include Joe Morello, Louis Bellson, Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa (he's had the pleasure of meeting all four in person) as well as Ringo Starr, Dave Clark, Ginger Baker, Carmine Appice and Tommy Aldridge. Bill takes his turn singing lead vocals on such songs as "Nowhere Man", "Obladi Oblada" and "Got to Get You Into My Life".

Marty Comeaux
(vocals, guitars) was born and raised in Baytown, Texas, and began playing guitar at the age of 15. Inspired by the music of the 60’s and 70’s, he was soon performing with his first rock band, honing his skills while playing classic songs by bands such as Cream, Ted Nugent and Aerosmith. In addition, he became infatuated with guitars of all types and vintages, and soon began acquiring vintage and rare instruments and amplifiers, including a number of classic Vox amps. Through it all, though, the Beatles remained his biggest influence. So it was only natural that when the opportunity arose to join Abbey Rode in 2008, he jumped at the chance to perform some of the most recognizable guitar riffs in history. Marty also takes his turn singing lead on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”, “All My Loving”, “A Hard Day’s Night”, and “Here Comes the Sun”.
